Over 10,000 patients visited PHCC health centers during official holidays

The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has reported that its 22 operational health centers received a total of 10,988 patients, including both citizens and residents, during the official holiday on November 6 and 7, 2024. This turnout reflects the sense of national unity in Qatar, further emphasized during the recent public referendum on the draft constitutional amendments.

Of the total patients, 7,937 visited general medicine and family medicine clinics, while the general dental clinics treated 604 individuals. Additionally, PHCC’s “Urgent Care Units” across 12 health centers – including Al-Mashaf, Al-Sadd, Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, Al-Ruwais, Al-Sheehaniya, Al-Kaaban, Gharrafat Al-Rayan, Rawdat Al-Khail, Muaither, Umm Salal, Leabaib, and Al-Karaana – managed 886 cases, each receiving care based on specific medical needs.

PHCC provided several specialized clinic services, such as ophthalmology, ENT, dermatology, and premarital screening, along with pharmacy, radiology, and laboratory services to support patients during the holiday. Specifically, the ophthalmology clinics at Leabaib, Rawdat Al-Khail, West Bay, Al-Wakrah, and Al-Khor centers saw 80 patients, while ENT services at Leabaib and Rawdat Al-Khail treated 69 patients. Dermatology clinics at Leabaib, Rawdat Al-Khail, and Umm Salal saw 49 patients, and premarital screening services, offered at Leabaib, Al-Mashaf, Al-Rayyan, West Bay, and Al-Khor, accommodated 62 patients.

The PHCC Community Call Center further supported 551 patients with virtual consultations through telephone and video calls via the 16000 service line. This enabled prompt medical care for urgent cases, including the issuance of prescriptions from specialized physicians without the need for prior appointments.

PHCC emphasized that all on-duty health centers remained committed to meeting patient needs efficiently, ensuring no delays or extended waiting times. This focus on patient care aligns with Qatar’s national health strategy and the Qatar Vision 2030. PHCC reaffirmed its dedication to providing high-quality healthcare services to all citizens and residents, underscoring its commitment to excellence in healthcare delivery.
